Tom McCambridge, President of the Chamber, announced  that the Executive Committee of the Chamber unanimously appointed Kristen as the 15th Chairperson of the Garden City Gala.

Stephanie Cullum, Immediate Past President of the Chamber, said Kristen brings a new vitality and innovative thinking to the process of planning and delivering a first class, fun, exciting evening of entertainment.
Dennis Donnelly, Executive Director of the Chamber, looks forward to working with Kristen.  We are well on our way to creating a new and action-packed entertainment extravaganza.
Kristen Laird was raised in Westchester in the quaint little town of Bedford, NY.  She attended Kent School in Kent, CT and went on to graduate with honors from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Costume Design.  Driven by her love for skiing, Kristen combined her degrees and natural instincts to begin a career as a high-end residential interior designer in the lovely valley of Vail, Colorado.  Eventually moving back East to continue her career in Greenwich, CT and New York City, she worked for some of the world’s most notable veteran Interior Designers, such as Mark Cunningham of Mark Cunningham, INC.  She eventually branched out on her own and started her eponymous interior design firm, Kristen Laird Design, based in Manhattan.
Kristen first came to the Village of Garden City in 2013 to lend her grandmother a helping hand and represent the third generation of Viscardi family ownership at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home.  Kristen brought her broad business and design experience to the table as the business development manager for Fairchild Sons and worked hard to deepen the funeral homes connection and commitment to the Garden City community.
Kristen is an avid believer in giving back to her community and over the years she has developed a deep bond and sense of loyalty to the Village of Garden City and its residents. She has served on Garden City’s Chamber of Commerce board of Directors since 2015 and most recently joined Coach Realtors as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in 2016.
Since Kristen was a little girl she always had an intense passion for design, entertaining and live music.  She is excited for the opportunity to combine and showcase these passions as Chair Person of the 2017 Chamber of Commerce 15th annual Pineapple Ball.  The ball will be held on May 5th, 2017 at the Garden City Hotel.  Kristen promises a one-of-a-kind event unlike anything attendees of the ball have seen in the past.  And don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes as the night will be featuring the Atomic Funk Project; a world-class 9-piece band from NYC that specializes in music that grooves and gets people dancing!
