KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Michael Lewis - Supervisory Special Agent
FBI New York - Long Island Resident Agency
Michael Lewis is the Senior Supervisory Resident Agent for the Long Island Office of the FBI. This office is reponsible for the investigation of Federal Criminal, Terorism and National Security violations that occur within the Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Mr. Lewis directly supervises the investigation of a variety of criminal matters including gang violence, kidnappings, commercial institution robberies, narcotics trafficking and crimes against children.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Lewis served for eight years in the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force as both a field agent and a squad supervisor. Much of his time with the JTTF was focused on aviation security and protection of critical transportation infrastructure. Mr. Lewis began his career in the FBI with a six-year assignment to the Genovese Organized Crime Family squad in New York where his investigatons involved labor racketeering, extortion and murder.
Before joining the FBI, Mr. Lewis served for several years as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan where he prosecuted a wide-range of street-level criminal offenses. He obtained a BA from American University in Justice Studies, a Master of Forensic Sciences from George Washington University and Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland.
