Event Description:

Adopt a Lamppost for the Holidays and Help Those in Need!!
      The lampposts are starting to get decorated.  Don't miss out on an opportunity to Adopt, Donate and Decorate the lampposts on Seventh Street and  New Hyde Park Road  in order to raise money those in need. 
     Start a new tradition…..Come on down, have fun and decorate your lamppost.  Be Imaginative! Be Creative!  And get your family or business involved and our downtown will be festive for the Holidays 
1) No Decorations are to be placed above 8' on any Lamppost.
2) No Decorations are to exceed 12" from the Lamppost
3) No electricity is to be used by your Decoration other than solar power.
4) All Decorations are to be outdoor grade.
5) Any Decorations found to violate the above rules or any decorations that are found to be offensive or in poor taste will be remove and discarded  and no refunds will be given.
6) Participants wishing to reclaim their Decorations may do so the week between Christmas and New Years. Any Decorations remaining up after January 1st will be removed and discarded.
7) Each pole will carry the name of the family who decorated the pole.

Mollie Biggane Melanoma Foundation
As a sophomore in college, Mollie discovered a mole on her thigh. In the following six months, she underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. The Mollie Biggane Melanoma Foundation was created in her memory after her tragic death at the age of twenty.
Our mission is to increase awareness for melanoma prevention, provide information and services on skin cancer detection, and support melanoma patients through education of the latest treatments.
The Andy Foundation
The Foundation was established in January of 2004 to honor the life of Andrew Patrick Palmeri.  On September 17, 2003, Andrew Patrick Palmeri (“Andy”) was playing tag with his friends when he was fatally hit by a passing car. In January of 2004 Andy’s family and friends established The Andy Foundation. The Foundation’s motto is “By Kids - For Kids” and its mission is to give all children regardless of race, religion, or social and economic status a chance for a healthy, safe and happy childhood, which will give them a better chance to become successful and productive adults.

Wounded Warrior Project
Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001. WWP's vision is to "foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history" as it works to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service members, help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

Miracle Foundation
The Miracle Foundation is a 501 (c)(3),  nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those diagnosed with Cancer and  to finding a cure for this disease.  Integral to their mission are improving patient care, increasing cancer awareness and funding worthy scientific research. The Foundation's efforts focus on raising funds to support the work of individuals and organizations who can help us achieve these goals.
Winthrop Pediatric Cancer Center
Winthrop-University Hospital and our affiliated practitioners have collaborated to create the Cancer Center for Kids. With state-of-the-art equipment and a highly specialized multidisciplinary team of physicians, the Cancer Center for Kids offers a wide range of early detection, diagnostic, intervention and treatment services, both inpatient and outpatient, that are on par with the nation’s best cancer treatment programs
As part of our unique delivery of pediatric cancer care, all patient contact – inpatient or outpatient, telephone or electronic – is conducted with one of the Center’s experienced, attending physicians. A true patient-physician partnership is developed as we provide as much treatment as possible in our beautifully appointed, child-friendly outpatient Center, making life easier and more manageable for patients and their families. In our outpatient Center, children can receive transfusions, infusions, chemotherapy treatments, or even procedures under anesthesia in a safe and comforting environment…and then go home to sleep in their own beds at night
Garden City friends of STEM

The Garden City Friends of STEM (GCFS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 2015 to promote and support robotics and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education, programs and activities for the students in the Garden City School District and Garden City community. Funds raised will be used to supplement STEM programs in our schools and community, support Garden City school district robotics teams, and establish a STEM scholarship program in the high school.


Garden City Foundation

The Garden Foundation, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 2001. The Mission of the Foundation is to provide an annual “Excellence in Business Education Scholarship” to a deserving Garden City resident who attends Garden City High School and provide financial assistance to Garden City residents and organizations in need.
Since 2012, the scholarship has been known as the “Althea Robinson Excellence in Business Education Scholarship” in honor of the Chamber’s former, long-time Executive Director and Foundation board charter member.

Date/Time Information:
Decorate your Lamppost up until  Thursday, December 13th. Judging of the Lampposts will take place on Friday morning December 14th and announcement for the best decorated Lampposts will occur on Friday Night, December 14th at the Holiday Spectacular.

With your donation of $125 you can select a lamppost on 7th Street or New Hyde Park Road and decorate as desired!

Proceeds will be distributed to a local charity of your choice.
